Soil health & taking farm risks can be difficult.
In the field & on the bottom line.

When farmers have a negative experience adopting a practice, they are highly unlikely to try that practice again. At Farm Advisor we solve this problem by pairing you with a farmer mentor who has already spent decades implementing these same conservation and soil-health practices & changes on their own farms – helping you avoid mistakes & pitfalls so you can fast-track your own success, profitability, and resiliency.

Dear Farmers,
Your operation runs on results — and that includes the ground it’s built on. Soil health isn’t just about stewardship; it’s about performance, resilience, and return on investment. By applying proven soil-health strategies backed by decades of on-farm experience, you can strengthen yields, lower input costs, and protect your land’s productivity for the next generation.
Your local farm advisor is here to help you implement strategies that make conservation pay – including large scale farm operations— from data-driven practice selection to cost-share opportunities and practical management adjustments that fit your acres. Let’s turn conservation into a competitive advantage on your farm.
The overarching goal of the program is to get to scale, measured in numbers of acres with soil health practices.
Results
Through farmer-led education, peer mentoring, and hands-on collaboration, we deliver outcomes that matter to small and large-scale producers:
- Faster, lower-risk adoption of proven soil health practices that fit real-world row crop operations
- Practical, data-driven tools that flatten the learning curve and reduce trial-and-error costs
- Greater return on every conservation dollar invested through smarter implementation strategies
- Sustained profitability and practice retention long after financial assistance programs end
- Stronger peer networks built by farmers, for farmers — sharing strategies that work at scale
- Tangible environmental and operational results, including improved water quality, reduced input losses, and long-term protection of productive soils

Next Steps
FarmAdvisor is being developed in a “crawl-walk-run” model. From the outset, the program is managed administratively by the Indiana Soybean Alliance(ISA). The program has financial support from the Indiana Corn Marketing Council / Indiana Soybean Alliance, the Indiana Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, and donations from farmer-members, and non-operating landowners of the group.
